Accessible Sailing on Lake George and elsewhere...

Y-Knot's exhibit of two Martin16s drew visitors at the NYS Governor's Expo on Assistive Technology at the Empire State Plaza Convention Center on May 11. The bi-annual conference drew exhibitors, presentors and attendees from across New York State. Y-Knot members and volunteers spent the day answering questions and talking sailing with dozens of interested participants.

Danny McCoy, one of Canada's top Martin16 sailors and a long-time friend of Y-Knot, is competing in Bermuda in the International Etchells class thanks to a new modified helm design: "The seat slides from side to side and a canting system, operated by a crewmember using a rope, enables McCoy to tilt with the boat. A restructured steering system allows him to sail the boat using a modified 'joy-stick' in front of his seat, rather than the regular tiller."
